Cobalt Blue Blazer

Cobalt Blue Blazer
I am all about blazers this fall and winter. I have picked up this one in a bright cobalt blue color in order to mix in some bright colors into my fall and winter wardrobe. I paired this blazer with a classic white deep v-neck shirt, black skinny jeans and black biker boots. I also added a big statement necklace to this look to dress it up.  My hair was in one of those huge donut buns- so added a picture of that, they are surprisingly easy to make and look super cute!

Braided Messy Bun

Braided Messy Bun

I took my inspiration from this Blake Lively hair style for a recent wedding I was attending. Braids are totally in and I wanted to give it a try! Check out the tutorial after the jump!

'Do it up right!

In two weeks my brother is getting married and I find myself once again in the position of the bridesmaid. One of my favorite things about being by the bride's side is getting pampered for the big day, and this includes getting my hair done. I have done so many different updos and love trying new ones for each wedding. Now the term "updo" can bring back horrific memories of prom hairstyles from the 90s, but now a days a "updo" is really just a hairstyle with some or all of your hair being swept up, down, or to the side. In looking for what I will be getting done to my hair I found a plethora of amazing updos from my fav celebs, and incase you also find yourself walking down the isle...your welcome.

The Perfect Plait

The braid, while old-fashioned, seems to have taken over the heads of fashionistas everywhere. From elegant to punky, trendy to hippy-chic, I love braids in any style. Here are some perfect plaits that inspire me

Nice Buns

With summer approaching, I felt it appropriate to write about a hairstyle I can’t live without when the temperature is sky high: the bun. The bun is slowly but surely creeping out of the realms of old ladies and dancers, and into a stylish girl’s hair repertoire. Like its carefree sister the pony tail, buns have a million different versions. From sleek to bohemian chic, here’s my list of nice buns

Dress up for your elastic bands

Like my fellow blogget I am also a fan of the ponytail. Running a seventh grade Science classroom does not exactly lend to perfect curls and sleek blowouts, so I usually stick with some version of the ponytail (see Pony Up post for ideas on how to modify the basic ponytail). Even though I like to switch up my ponytail I was bored with basic elastic bands. That's how I discovered Emi-Jay hair ties. Emi-Jay hair ties are super cute ribbon hair ties in tons of colors and patterns that totally dress up your pulled back pony! You can rock them in any style that requires an elastic band, and these are so cute you will want to show them off instead of hide them! They stay put and work just as well as your regular old Goody elastic bands. Emi-Jay is always coming out with new colors and styles, and they also make headbands (which I obvi love). I highly recommend replacing your elastic bands with these!!

Pony Up

With super long hair and a 20 minute bike ride to and from work, I rarely wear my hair down during the week. It is almost always up in the go-to look for women everywhere: the ponytail. Wearing a simple ponytail every day can be a bit boring, so I've come up with a list of jazzed up ponies that will rock your workweek!

Head Bandit

Yes, it's true I am a slight addict of headbands, a girl can never have too many as far as I am concerned. A good headband can make a bad hair day over faster then Brit Brits come back tour. The headband is the ultimate accessory. I love adding a headband when I am dressing up for a night on the town or heading off to work, and every girl knows headbands are perfect for pulling those loose hairs back when you are sweating off those carmel macchiatos at the gym. Normally, you would have those headbands for working out reserved for your gym bag...BUT there is a headband that can work both ways!
