Color Blocking

I love trends that don't require buying a piece that may or may not be completely out of fashion next season. Color blocking, or pairing different colors to complement each other, is a great way to use the solids you've already got in a new way. At first I wasn't hugely excited about color blocking because it meant toeing the line between bold and mismatching. It can be difficult to choose colors that work together without looking over the top. When I read about it on Golden Goose I was inspired by Megan's subtle combination of royal, navy and tangerine.
I love the idea of using colors in the same family

I also like a bold combination like blue and yellow

I took old pieces in my closet and paired them to to create a color block effect

Teal tank by H&M, Oversized Cardigan by Anne Taylor, Black Skinny Jeans by Levis

Racer back tank by American Apparel, Skinny Belt by Zara, Silk Pleated Skirt by JCrew

Cardigan by H&M, Racer back tank by American Apparel, Pants by JCrew

Way I wear it: Franchescas color block dress (similar) worn with: Franchescas belt (similar), Aldo Boots (similar)
