Summer Splash: Cover up!

As my grandma would say with her slow southern drawl- cover up young lady! Although I resented it at the time, now I know good old grams was right- covering up is just as important as showing it all off! While you may be rocking your bikini there is no way to faster kill your post beach summer glow then to throw on a pair of softee shorts and a old college t-shirt...gross! Keep rocking out your bad self with cover up to compliment that ah-maze bikini. I used to think that my bathing suit had to match my cover up (secretly it was just a ploy to buy more clothes) but these days there are so many cover ups that you can get away with one or two for the season and rock them with the white bikini or neon bandeau. So many coverups can go from beach to bbq to nighttime, which is great for a gal on the go or a fahionista on vaca who needs more room for shoes in her suitcase. Coverups can range from tunics, rompers, sarongs, tank tops or sundresses.

You know you love her- Blake Lively covers up in a Tory Burch tunic

Tunics:
Tunics make a great cover up because they can be worn alone when you are hanging out on the beach, and can make a simple transition to street with a pair of shorts, some simple flat sandals and accessories. They range from floral printed to simple white, so you can mix and match as you please!
J. Crew beachcomber tunic- Poolside perfection
Steve Madden Rasscal Sandals - strappy and comfy
Or wear the tunic as a dress, like this option

Simple Updates

Street: Banana Republic Tunic (similar), Paige Denim cutoff shorts, United Colors of Benetton Wedges (similar), Coral Necklaces, Vintage Sunnies

Beach: Banana Republic Tunic (similar), Old Navy tote (similar), Fossil sunnies

Rompers:
Rombers are a trend that are still around, and they make a great cover up. While wearing a romper it's important to make sure you belong playing sand volley ball and not in the sandbox so don't mix this trend with too many girly accessories and stick to big prints or complete solids. A romper can easily be dressed up and take you from pool to party in a flash.

Only Hearts romper for the beach, then add some heels and Aqua Boho drop earrings for a night out on the town!

Day to Night
Day: H&M snakeskin romper (similar), Zebra print beach bag (similar), Reef sandals

Night: H&M snakeskin romper (similar) paired with: Francescas large black belt, bracelet, and ring, studded clutch and Target grey peep toe  booties

Sundress:
I love me some sundresses! A good sundress is the perfect cover up as well as way to rock both day and night outfits. With the right accessories a sundress can take you from the sunrise to sunset.
A printed sundress can work so many ways just keep accessories basic- Sass and Bide sundress  worth with Suuna Catseye sunglasses and Anya Hindmarch clutch
